Starting 2026 with a project unrelated to horses!

I always love starting a year with a challenge. This years was a little different as there wasn’t a horse in sight! We had the chance to host an annual Sunday lunch so we thought Ross will host and I’ll cook with Len.

Len was initially skeptical of this project because as he quite accurately said he had never seen me cook for three people let alone 12 😂 I said I’m lazy not incapable and besides my mum can cook so genetics have to kick in somewhere.

I’ve watched every episode of @gordongram Hell’s Kitchen so I already know the basics – nothing should be f**king raw, don’t try to cook risotto or scallops (people always balls those up) and don’t have too big a menu.

I did a trial run and everyone survived so Len was fully on board as was my bestie Emma who helped organise a trip to the cathedral in Kildare for guests and gave me a supporting hand. Lottie and Chica had a play date so they had great fun while the cats were sulking as they were not allowed near the kitchen.

Thankfully everything went well on the day 😊👌 I am very much a go big or go home person so it was all from scratch – not gonna lie the sauce did almost give me a heart attack at one stage 😅😬

Thanks to much to my friends and my mum who are so lovely, when you are doing something that’s easy for people who are experienced but new for you it’s a wonderful thing to get little texts saying you got this

Time for some horsey 🐴 goals and projects now I think! Oisin will be fresh today after a lazy weekend where as Sammy just hopes he’s in hibernation
